New build // The Spinney, Itchenor

We are at the beginning stages of an exciting new build project. The existing bungalow will be completely demolished, with a strong focus on recycling as many materials as possible. The plan is to replace the current structure with a modern, energy-efficient 3-bedroom bungalow.

Here’s an overview of the project:

  • The existing bungalow will be fully demolished, with sustainable recycling practices in place for salvaging usable materials.
  • The new build will feature a 3-bedroom layout, complete with bedrooms and bathrooms, designed for both functionality and style.
  • The new house will be constructed using SIPs (structural insulated panels), a pre-made timber frame system that allows for rapid assembly and provides excellent insulation for energy efficiency.
  • Our Inside Out team will manage the demolition phase, then step back as another team handles the assembly of the pre-fabricated structure, a process that should take around 3 weeks.
  • Once the main structure is up, the Inside Out team will return to complete the finishing touches, including the installation of windows and interior detailing.
  •  There is potential to add a sauna in an upstairs space, depending on final design decisions.
  • Hubble has been brought on board to design and fit the kitchen and utility room, ensuring a seamless blend of style and practicality.
  • After construction, we will focus on landscaping to complement the new build, bringing the entire project together.

The project is expected to take approximately 1 year from start to finish, resulting in a beautifully transformed home designed for modern living.

START OF PROJECT

UPDATES

Last week, we poured 40 cubic metres of concrete, which kept the team busy all day! Following this, we moved on to the blockwork and laid concrete beams across the foundation. The timber frame is scheduled for delivery next and will be assembled on-site over the course of 2-3 weeks.

UPDATES

The substructure brick and block work is complete, with a concrete beam and block floor now forming the foundation of the house. The steel work and timber frame have been built by Bentleys, and the digger is currently building up levels for scaffolding around the entire house.
