Brief
- to redesign the garden and to create a full outdoor living experience
- a high end project and using the best materials
- install bi-fold doors to open onto the garden
- install a swim space
- create a decking area around the established tree in the corner
Overview
We started the project by digging down to create a concrete pit where the swim spa will be installed – this will keep the water levels away from the the spa – and we also installed a sump pump to remove any excess water (the house is very close to Chichester Harbour..) The swim spa has multiple speeds suitable for any swimmer and also can light up to create a great ambiance in the garden.
The entire garden was weed treated and a membrane was placed down to keep the grass looking its best. Also some hard to reach areas were turfed in artificial grass that was now maintenance free!
The patio was tiled and the join between the inside and outside is now seamless owing to the Solarlux bi-fold doors, allowing for a proper inside out lifestyle.
In the corner of the patio we fitted a Beefeater outdoor bbq and created hidden storage in the units, and then topped them off in brazilian slate for a durable yet stylish finish.
In the far corner of the garden we fitted an oak wood deck, and made some raised planters to create a focal area in the garden with discrete lighting fittings for that wow factor in the evenings. Joining the oak wood decking area and the tiled patio is a Twinson decking strip that has a wood membrane underneath and also has a service hatch in service the spa motor. The twinson decking is anti-slip and will not fade or degrade over time.
Other elements include an outdoor shower, a hanging egg chair, lots of architectural plants and finishing touches.
