Brief
To convert the loft to give two bedrooms, one bathroom and LOTS of storage
To create a bespoke oak frame window to overlook the established garden
Overview
We added three dormer windows and a couple of veluxs to give the light and space needed for the project. We also built a staircase in the centre of the house and added bespoke under stairs cupboards to maximise every space available.
Using one of the dormer windows we created an ensuite bathroom to the master bedroom. We then completed the look with colonial cladding, a claw foot bath, a freestanding tap, a corner shower and a hard wearing wood laminate floor to match the whole upstairs.
In the master bedroom we had a large oak frame window made with two doors opening to a juliet balcony. This really gives the property the wow factor and the owners are over the moon with the room. Also in the this room we added handmade cupboards and drawers and aligned these with the chimney to streamline the floor and to add to the illusion of space and light.
The final stage of the project is to put a wooden deck in across the back of the garden – and built around the established large trees to add interest an character.
